The IP you're using to send email is not authorized

You really should get a static IP.  If you can't, then that's another good reason for using an SMTP relay service.

Hello. While i try to send a mail to gmail i took an error message like:

"The IP you're using to send email is not authorized"

How can i configure Mercury not to take this message again? A header or what can i add mails to solve this error?

Thanks...

The question is why gmail does not like your IP?

Do you have a dynamic IP, wrong rDNS setting, is your IP listed in some DSBL etc.?

The best thing would be to contact gmail support and ask them what's the problem.

Regards from Germany
Axel

Are you sending 'to' Gmail, or are you using Gmail as an outgoing relay?  If the latter, you will need to authenticate first - see the MercuryC configuration page.

İ think they never gave me answer, because they dont answer the questions. Yes i have dynamic ip address and i am using a dns adress for that... What can i do else?

And the next: I dont use mercuryC for delivering mails

Your dynamic IP might be the problem. Many servers check if the sending IP is part of a dynamic pool and if it is part of such a pool they deny delivery.

As long as you have a dynamic IP it is best to deliver using MercuryC via your ISP's SMTP relay server, then you should have no more problems.

You really need to run a session log to get all of the TCP/IP level stuff but I did note that that there is not PTR record and many server reject when they can't do a PTR check.

I'm not familiar with freeserver or 1.vg, but the format for a DNS MX resource record does not normally include a colon ":" character.

The MX should have a number indicating precedence (if you have multiple mailservers, you can rank them by preference, if you only have one mailserver just use 10 here) and then the DNS name of your mailserver.  That name should be "The one true name" of the mailserver, it should not be an alias or CNAME, and there should be a corresponding A resource record for that name as well as a PTR record for reverse lookups.

There are many on-line DNS checkers that you can use to test your configuration; I usually use www.dnsstuff.com, which provides a pretty comprehensive report.

Removing my IP from http://www.spamhaus.org/pbl/index.lasso list solved issue as soon as DNS servers and GMail updated their Spam Block Lists.

Real solution would be to Add secure authentication to SMTP Client (End-To-End Version) which is needed to authorize valid Mail server at least for that is solution for GMail.

I'm confused.  Mail servers delivering mail do not authenticate.  If you are sending to a GMail SMTP server and delivering mail to a GMail user  then how in the world would the sending system know how to authenticate?  What credentials would they use?  Now if you are trying to using the GMail SMTP host as a relay host via MercuryC then you'll need to use a authenticated connection.

Hmmm, let me see to make an example:

I'm using MercE as SMTP Client, can't use MercC  as I do not have SMTP server that will relay Messages (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smarthost).

Here is Normal process when my IP is not in http://www.spamhaus.org/pbl/index.lasso :

1. MercS receives  MSG for non-local user <user>@gmail.com

2. MercE gets MX record for Gmail.com

3. MercE Sends Email To Gmail.com MX record

4. Message accepted/delivered

Here is what happen when my IP can be located in PBL list http://www.spamhaus.org/pbl/index.lasso (using Lookup IP):

1. MercS receives  MSG for non-local user <user>@gmail.com

2. MercE gets MX record for Gmail.com

3. MercE Sends Email To Gmail.com MX record

4. Message not delivered "The IP you're using to send email is not authorized"

 Solution:

Using Lookup IP on http://www.spamhaus.org/pbl/index.lasso initiate manual PBL list removal. Please read carefully http://www.spamhaus.org/faq/answers.lasso?section=Spamhaus%20PBL#229 and all should be OK after 15-30 Minutes.

The answer is the same as it was a year ago, nobody authenticates doing a final delivery to mx servers.

If getting yourself off PBL solves the gmail problem, that's good, but there will be other lists out there that may deny you access.   Finding a good relay host is not too difficult and will solve all these issues.

Some gateway servers performing MX functions for internal servers do this though. They are also performing an alias server function in most cases though.

They are fairly inexpensive as well.    DynDNS Mailhop Outbound does this for $15/year for 150 relays a day.  Need more, just buy more $15/year packages, i.e. $150/year gets you 1500 messages/day. https://www.dyndns.com/services/pricing/#als[/quote]

My router (and most newer routers support at least one of DynDNS

Services) in addtion you can always use free DynDNS updater

True, but unless your ISP is flitering/blocking incoming ports 25 and 465  it is not hard for admins to check these there scanners and remove Server IP from PBL and domain lists and have MercE for free:
