How do I create a new Junkmail folder?

This is certainly a reasonable explanation.

I tried to delete the messages in my junk-mail folder, but unfortunately deleted the whole folder and contents. Is replacing the folder straight-forward? Also, why cannot I delete the messages  without removing the folder?  Deletion works OK in other modes.

Thanks.

Eric.

I don't know what straight-forward is supposed to mean: Create a new folder, then assign it to Content control (Tools => Spam and content controls => Content control => [double-click the current defintion(s)] => Actions => Parameter if required) and Spamhalter (Tools => Spam and content controls => Spamhalter => Select) - and any custom filter rules if you have some. Recreating the junk folder with an identical name like before might not be enough as Pegasus Mail usually uses internal unique folder IDs, but you may test this first before going through these steps.

You can not? This folder should work like any other folder ...

Thank you for your quick response, Peter. The term straightforward (without hyphen, actually) is the English equivalent of unkompliziert.

As for deleting the individual messages from the Junk folder, if I select a message and click the 'delete' tab, I am always asked if I wish to delete the folder. No idea why this happens. Will now attempt to create a new Junk folder.  :)

Yes, Eric, I understand the meaning of the word, but being straightforward for one person may not be so for someone else ... especially with regard to computers ...

I assume you're referring to the three-pane preview mode: There are to buttons for deletion, the one to the left deletes folders while the one to the right deletes messages.

Michael. Sincere apologies for getting your name wrong! A rush of manure to the brain.

You are quite correct. I was using the 'delete folder' tab in error. Silly me. Should have stuck to the Abacus. Anyway, things appear to be functioning OK, now.

Many thanks for your assistance.

Eric.

I was really wondering what was going on in your brain while writing your reply ... [;)]
