Hi There,
I have recently joined a workplace which has been using Pegasus mail for a number of years. We recently had some problems with our emails (which has now been fixed) and to cut a long story short Pegasus mail was uninstalled from my PC. I want to set it back up again however none of the configuration settings have been retained. I have downloaded V4.6 and when selecting the icon off the desktop i am presented with the standard "setting up mailbox" window. The trouble is i am not a techie and am afraid of fumbling through the set up process and causing more harm than good. Is anyone able to help me through this set up process?
Currently there are 4 PC`s set up on a network (which uses Novell). Each user will log into Pegasus Mail as the user "Admin" and therefore we do not have seperate log on names. All users access the same mailbox which contains a load of subfolders containing historic emails which have been stored for reference.
All i simply want to do is set up Pegasus mail, log in as the "Admin" user and be able to see all of these subfolders. Incidentally the other PC`s on the network are running an older version of Pegasus mail, not sure if this makes any difference or not.
Thanks in anticipation of some help.

Did you install Netware support?

Really bad idea if all users are accessing the same mailbox and the same time. This WILL cause folder corruption and loss of mail. You can do this if running a IMAP4 connection via Mercury/32 connecting to this Netware mailbox.

Nope it does not.
Hi,
At this time all i have downloaded to my PC is Pegasus mail v4.6. Do i need Netware support? If so does this need to be installed locally on my pc or on the server? The added complication with our network is that we are running off a very old server (windows 98) which we can`t access directly because we can`t hook up a monitor or keyboard to it. Again, not being a techie, i`m not sure if there is a way to access the server via my pc?
Agree with you regarding the Admin user, its very bad practice. I am more than happy to set up a new user for myself as long as i can still have access to the same mailbox and view the existing folders. If this can be achieved relatively simply then i can set up other users for each member of staff and move us away from the potential pitfall of us all logging in as Admin.
I do appreciate any help and of course your patience. I am more than happy to provide any further details to try and move forward with this.
Many thanks.

If you are logging into a Netware host expecting to see mail on the server then you must load the appropriate version of the Netware support. There are two options, Bindery and NDS and the type is determined by which service you are using on the Netware host. After the Netware support is loaded you will automatically be sent to the proper mailbox when you login. You might go to one of the systems where this is working and use Help | About Pegasus Mail | Info on the running version of Pegasus Mail. There will be info to show what type of Netware you are using when connected. Here's the info on my connection to a Netware 3.12 server using bindery.

That's a problem though. You only get access when logged in as that user or you are an admin user and you use the "BECOME" function to run PMail as that user.

What are sharable are public folders. You might want to set this up using Public folder residing on the server. See Tools | Public folder | Help in PMail.

Hi,
It was suggested to me that i may be able to recover the email settings if a do a system restore on my PC. I have done this and Pegasus mail V 4.31 has successfully been restored. I can launch the application and do get through to the inbox, however during its launch i am presented with the following error message window entitled "error loading extension", which reads "Pegasus Mail has encountered an operating system error while attempting to load the extension 'IERenderer'. The error code returned by Windows was: "The specified module could not be found."
Can you offer any guidance as to how to overcome this error.
Many thanks.

Delete the file IERenderer.fff from Pegasus Mail's program directory (the one containing WINPM-32.EXE).

An assistant was trying to resolve the issue and found the following "resolution"
Assistant: I found that going into message replies options, and in some cases not even changing anything, but hitting apply, seems to correct it.
Assistant: Travis changed his option to put < in front of the old message and that corrected his. Seems like any change made to reply options resets the issue. Maybe??? :)
Me: Wow - that sounds too easy...I wonder what config file that modifies. It would seem like it modifies the pmail.ini file which I had modified manually.
Further testing confirmed that making a change to the Tools / Options / Messages and Replies, or in the Reply Options window that appears resolves the issue. Perhaps it was a rights issue on that Netware Network.

Oops, looks like this post went to the wrong thread, should be this one, I guess ...
