SURBL.org Blacklisting
I find the same thing - many (most?) links in HTML emails cause the blacklist warning to come up. In many (most?) cases, I suspect the site is safe. I wasn't aware of the SURBL Lookup page, but I will use it in the future.

My latest example, from today, is a delivery notification from ups.com, which contains a link to their site, and I got a blacklist warning. I just checked it at the SURBL Lookup page, they say it's not blacklisted.
Some things to consider:

 1. Websites may be temporarily blacklisted for whatever reason.
 2. Blacklist lookups are executed via your (resp. your provider's) DNS service (for details see the respective SURBL page) which may fail for whatever reaons I cannot foresee and hence cannot take care off.

IOW: There may be issues that only you encounter ...

The HTML renderer (IE Renderer 2.4.0.3) exhibits some puzzling behavior regarding "blacklisted" URIs.  I recently attempted to open a link to the U.S. Postal Service Web site from within a message and received the following warning message:

"The domain <usps.com> is listed on 2 blacklist(s) according to www.surbl.org:
Do you want your browser to load the page from this host nevertheless?"

However, when I entered <usps.com> on the "SURBL Lookup" page <http://www.surbl.org/surbl-analysis>, the site stated that "usps.com is not blacklisted."

How does one reconcile these two results?  Does IE Renderer 2.4.0.3 use a static blacklist or does it communicate with surbl.org?

I'm using Pegasus 4.6.1 upgraded from 4.5.2 with customized toolbars.

It acts like described on their Guidelines page, IOW it does not use a static list (how would this works at all, BTW, things might be changing within seconds). If you continue getting such issues we might have to get into some closer investigation.

BTW: What's your setting for Tools => Options => Advanced settings Load Windows Internet Services ...? It should be Always (or never if not using Pegasus Mail built-in POP3/SMTP routines). If it isn't the blacklist DNS look-up might fail returning invalid results.

I have looked up usps.com in Surbl.org and it is good right now.

I've turned off the blacklist check feature for now. It's too annoying, and I get the feeling it's not reliable.
