Bug Report and Suggestions

We did not misunderstand so much as you failed to mention that the text was not a recognised (and formatted) link.

I've just tested in Pegasus 4.61 and it worked fine for me but that was with a marked link in a plain-text message.

Can you please give us the following info which will help us to understand what your situation and try and re-create the problem:

  • Which exact version of Pegasus are you using? You mention 4.0 but I really hope you're more up-to-date than that.
  • Are you seeing this problem in plain-text as well as HTML messages?
  • If these e-mail addresses are not active links, can you tell us whether there are ANY active links in the message?

This should get us started on sorting you out.

Could not find a forum for bug reports so here goes...

Version 4.0 in XP PRO SP 3

In message reader...

When selected text is an EMAIL ADDRESS,  "open selection as hyperlink" offers browser prompt, but does not respond to selection, goes back to message. That's a bug that needs to be fixed.

Previous behavior was to recognize the email address, open a new message form with address in the "to field."

Suggestion-- remove browser choice because it is not relevant with an email address, recognize email address and open a new message form as was done in previous versions..

Workaround--   highlight address and copy to clipboard, click on new message icon, paste address.

Seriousness-- I do this procedure 15-20 times a day and so it is a habit or conditioned reflex.

 Thanks, and regards...

Really? Did you ever try a simple double-click?

>>Really? Did you ever try a simple double-click?<<

On what???  I think you are misunderstanding the problem.  The email address is in the text of the message, and it is not shown as a link so double-clicking does nothing.  I select the text and RIGHT- click  and one of the options (as previously) is to open the select as a hyperlink, but it DOES NOT WORK.
