No, it won't since Pegasus Mail's Registry entries are re-created by Pegasus Mail whenever it starts, SetPMDefault.exe isn't involved here at all. Aside from this, EInOutError exceptions are usually caused by Delphi's file read and write functions you're using in BearHtml. Trying to catch this exception with the MiniDump extension might provide further details, but you need to provide a DBG-file for BearHtml, Martin.

When I start Pmail I'm getting an error saying:

Looks like BearHtml chokes on reading BearWarn.txt, so for a test you might rename it or try to fix its contents by trial and error. I'm sure Martin Ireland will get back to you sooner or later.

    Have you got a file called Bearhtml.log in your NewMail directory?  If not just create an empty file with Notepad.This may not be the problem, but will help in finding the problem. Let me know

It looks like your Pegasus Mail is not set up completely. The Registry needs to have the Pegasus Mail entries added. See if you have a file in your Pegasus Mail executables directory called SetPMDefault.exe   If you do, run it and I hope that fixes your problem
