Folder Names

What a wonderful utility, Thomas, it does exactly what I wanted.  Many thanks for referring me to it.  I like some of the other Pegasus utilities on that web-page as well.

Is there an easy way of obtaining a complete list of the folder names (as created in the Folders window of Pegasus) with the Folder Information names (PMM and PMI) in the C:/PMAIL/MAIL directory, so I can easily identify a specific folder in the C:/PMAIL/MAIL listing, please?

I know I can right click on each Folder name to obtain the Folder Information (PMM and PMI name) for that folder, but as I have over 400 folders, this would take me a very long time to compile a complete list.

The reason I am asking is that I am running Pegasus version 4.52 and recently the programn has been slowing down, despite running it on a newish laptop computer (Windows XP).  I am wondering if the reason is because of the large number of folders I have, some of them quite large (my PMAIL/MAIL directory is about 5gB) - I have been using folders for my filing system for the last ten years or so that I have been using Pegasus.

I am thinking of creating a 'MAIL PAST' folder and transfer some of the PMM and PMI files that I rarely use from the C:/PMAIL/MAIL to it, to reduce the number of Folders Pegasus uses when I run the program.  If I later need to refer to one of these folders, I can transfer them back from the MAIL PAST folder to the C:/PMAIL/MAIL folder.

However, I need an easy way to identify which PMM and PMI files to transfer to the MAIL PAST folder, hence my question at the start of this posting.  I am aware that you can rename both the PMM and PMI file to the same name in the Folders window (to identify it he future), but this would take me a very long time to do with my 400+ folders!

I recall that in earlier versions of Pegasus, the name of the PMM and PMI files was the same as the name in the Folders window, which made identifying particular folders very easy.  In fact I still have a few PMM and PMI files named like that from those days, but most of my folders have been created since a random name was used for the PMM and PMI file name.

Thanks for any help and any other suggestions as to what I can do to make Pegasus run faster.

Set Tools => Options => Advanced settings => Load Windows Internet Services ... to Always and restart Pegasus Mail.

Thank you Michael, but what should that do, please?

When I checked, I found I already have Internet Services set to always!

I replied to the slow down issue, didn't I? This could have been a cure for it.
