Reply: Move other "To"-recipients to "CC"

I think Mozilla Thunderbird does what you're trying to accomplish. In fact, that was precisely a feature that I didn't quite like when I tried out the program. If I reply to all, I don't want my email client to 'demote' addresses from the To: line to the Cc: line. Apparently, you don't agree, which is fair enough :-)

Cheers!

Hello,

as part of a kind of distribution list I receive mails with some other recipients accordingly the "To"-field.

I like to reply this way: "To" = sender, "CC" = other "To"-recipients. It seems to me that the prepared reply options of PMail don't satisfy this need.

Does anybody know better? Many thanks in advance for your help.

Best regards
Wolfgang

Then the original sender should do the same. Pmail merely takes over the To: and Cc: addresses from the original message.

Cheers!

Hello Steffan,

thank you for your answer.

Sorry, I don't understand what you mean.

Let's say for example: R want to send a message to S, T, U, V and W (me). So the "To"-field of his mail consists of S, T, U, V, W. Thereupon I ("W") answer R and also want to let know S, T, U, V about it.

How should R prepare his message to support this scenario?

Best regards
Wolfgang

Let's put it like this: If S, T, U, V and W are in the To: line, they will also be in the To: line of your reply, assuming you reply to all. The same goes for the recipients in the Cc: line. Hope this helps.

Cheers!

thanks again for your answer and spending your time. Yes those two options meanwhile I know but they don't do what I like.

From technical view it seems to be equal if the mail is send via "To" or "CC".  From personal view it is different especially if a salutation is used.

I will think about an entry in the feature request section.

Best regards
Wolfgang
