CPU use rises to 50%

Is this a recent install? Same machine? Recheck Tools, Options, General, Advanced and confirm that winsock loading is set to Always.

Seems to have sorted it. Thanks

I've been using v4.61 for the last few days and have noticed that CPU use by Pegasus rises over the day from about 0% to about 50% as shown by System Explorer. Any ideas?

Do you have fancy on and is there any HTML messages still busy in background downloading "lazy HTML" graphics at the time you looked at the system usage?

I have this machine open and winpmail running most of today and it is still only reaching 3% at times and less than 1% most of the time and I have an HTML message open at this time.

This system win7-64 and downloading mail via POP3 every five minutes between checks minimum or 3 minutes idle and new mail is checked at 10 second interval.

This is most probably the solution: If you need to change it don't forget to restart Pegasus Mail after doing so.

Also check using task manager to be sure there is no other instances running. They aren't all show as icons<G>. I've been caught by that one before.

It was a recent update using the Update option. Winsock was set to On demand only, so I've changed it and will report back. Thanks

I've also encountered the 50% CUP usage, Version 4.61 (Win32), Feb  5 2011,  updated over V4.52

My Wsock32.dll was also set to On Demand Only, in " Tools, Options, General, Advanced" and did the change to "Always" and things have cooled off.

Thanks

Michael
