Lost Configuratuion?
It appears that the file was overwritten with a default configuration this morning. Pegasus is now working fine. Just for interest, what are the typical reasons for this overwrite?
There are none, this should never happen unless the file is deleted which might happen if Pegasus Mail crashes while trying to update it - or if an AV scanner causes havoc (most likely reasons ...).

I use Pegasus 4.41 on Windows XP64. I appear to have lost the Pegasus configuration. All identities have gone, SMTP settings are blank, the windows and font setup is different. I can still retrieve mail via IMAP ( a bit strange?).I still have a complete, intact mail folder structure.  I assume that a config file has got overwritten somewhere. I have backups, but I don't know what file name to recover. Can anyone help? Thanks.

The file you're looking for is PMAIL.INI in the respective Pegasus Mail user's mailbox directory (actual location can be found via Help => About Pegasus Mail => Info => New mailbox path). Ensure it isn't read-only if copied back from a backup CD.

Michael -

Many thanks. I found the file, but its name was actually  just PMAIL rather than PMAIL.INI (I do have file extensions showing). It appears that the file was overwritten with a default configuration this morning. Pegasus is now working fine. Just for interest, what are the typical reasons for this overwrite?
