Window Menu Does Not Work

Yes - and, OT, it can be frustrating watching people click a menu, then click an option when they can do it with one click or a keyboard command... bleugh!

Hello

One of our staff has a long-standing issue with the Window menu in Pegasus Mail. He said (and showed me), that if he has several messages/folders open and wants to switch from one message/folder to another using the Window menu, the chosen message/folder is not brought to the front. He said Pegasus Mail has exhibited this behaviour for several years.

I tried this on my machine and found that Pegasus Mail behaves exactly the same way. I am unable to switch between windows. It is a feature I have never used before (weird, huh!)

We are able to use the WindowBar to switch between windows, so that works fine.

I have checked this on several machines and it is the same. However, bear in mind that we use a central installation of Pegasus Mail that all the desktops link to.

[Edit]

The top menu options work fine - cascade etc.

This is a known issue if using an "invisible" extension such as any of my encryption extensions, MiniDump or IERenderer. The reason behind this is - according to David Harris - a bug in Windows' MDI window handling (MDI windows are the windows within Pegasus Mail which cannot be moved outside of it; "invisible" means the extension doesn't use an MDI window). I've developed a workaround for this issue which was broken for a couple of versions in MiniDump and IERenderer (due to code migration to a more recent - Unicode based - Delphi version) but will be back working with my next public IERenderer update.

Thanks, Michael.

Seriously, it's not a problem and using the WindowBar is a far better way of navigating the windows IMO. But, I guess some folks prefer the extra click will use the menu instead.

I use the button bar as well, but it's a matter of long-standing habits, I guess ...
