Hi,

I have Mercury32 setup for my internet domain hosted by my ISP.  Mercury Pops a catchall account on my ISP and distributes email.

I have a couple users that use my ISP's web mail however so they can access there mail from anywhere.   All email to these web users stops at my ISP servers in those accounts and no email comes into my local Mercury for these web mail users.

Problem is, when setup this way local users can not send out emails to my web mail users.  Mercury will not deliver emails to "local domain" addresses offsite.   I need to let my local users local1@mydomain.com to send email to webuser1@mydomain.com who has no local account.

Mercury core just fails the emails to these web accounts as "user XXX not known".

How can I get Mercury to send email with local addresses out (to an smtp server or relay) so that my web mail users can get them?  Remember both Mercuy and my ISP have format of user@mydomain.com.

I have tried alaises as well but same problem.

Can I trick Mercury into sending email to a LOCAL DOMAIN formatted address offsite to some SMTP server?

Thanks,

1.    Remove the domain mydomain.com from the domains list.

2.    Add the domain local.mydomain.com to the domains list.

3.    Alias all local users to user@local.mydomain.list, i.e. user@mydomain.com == user@local.mydomain.com

Now when mail is sent to the local users the alias comes into play and Mercury will deliver it locally.  Mail for the remote users in the domain is sent out to the internet.
