Batch conversion to PDF under Windows 7

Ensuring future readability by converting plain text to a closed proprietary format doesn't make much sense to me.

I have been using Pegasus since the mid 90-ties and had a routine of archiving emails after completed projects as
pdf-files using a batch conversion program from ABC Software - a company I do not think exist any longer.

I have now moved to a new PC and Windows 7 and I guess that the bactch conversion utility will not work under this
environment.

I have Adobe 9 Pro on my PC but I have not found a way to use the batch conversion utility with the Adobe program
for Pegasus. It works for folders with documents and also for Outlook and some other programs.

Can anyone advice - how can I best do batch conversion to pdf of a complete folder in Pegasus under Windows 7??

I got no answer on my post from back last Summer. I am still struggeling with this problem and cannot get the ABC Amber PDF-converter
to work under Windows 7 (I have another post about this problem).

Outlook works great with PDF and I must unfortunately confess that I am tempted to move to Outlook for this, and this reason only after
allwats having used Pegasus.

Is there someone out there who has figured out how to convert a Pegasus folder to a pdf file??

I suspect the solution to your problem is converting the content of a folder to a Digest, but I am not aware of how to do this directly. Why do you need the folders converted to PDF anyway?

Martin!

Working with projects it is really good to be able to create a pdf-file of the relevant emails on a folder at the end of the end of the project. Pdf-files is also a good way of archiving and you can be pretty sure that you can read them on a PC in 15 years time (Windows 15??) etc- I have used the ABC Amber product to do this since the late 90-ties I think but now I am at a loss with Windows 7. Outlook solves this really nice but I hate to have to switch.... Jon

Jon, asking for help because it doesn't work is the worst help request of all: If you want to get proper advice tell us what exactly doesn't work. But aside from this: Why do you want to convert plain text to PDF just for archiving? Except for the first 128 bytes (and the Ctrl + Z mail delimiter) the PMM files simply contain plain text, so what's the purpose of converting plain text to PDF? And there's really no need to constanty try putting pressure on the community by telling us you're going to drop Pegasus Mail if we can't help you especially since it's not Pegasus Mail's fault if ancient software stops working on up-to-date systems.

Michael!
Sorry if you felt my question was unclear - I felt I articulated my needs for a batch conversion of one or several Pegasus Mail folder to an Adobe Acrobat pdf-file in my original post. Apparently that was not very clear.

As for stating that I was considering dropping Pegasus Mail, it was not meant to offend anyone - I have been a very loyal user for probably some 15 years at least advocating the beauty of this program to many other present users and on a regular basis contributing financially to Davis work. The statement was simply there to say that for me this has become a critical issue for me.

The lack of a user friendly way to create a pdf-file or pdf portfolio for that matter of a selected number of emails, a folder or a set of folders is a clear drawback in my mind with Pegasus compared with other email program such as Outlook. Unfortunately. I know the PMM files contain plain text but of you are running complex projects where you have lots of emails with attachments of different sorts that does not solve my problem.

Anyway - I will not be "push" my problem more here. I really hope that a great interaction with Adobe Acrobat will become a new function in Pegasus 5 or so and if so I will definately come back!
