Hi Michael, <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
Sorry for the delay to this response. Of course "new mail" by default goes to the New Mail folder. Historically I defined spam in the filter rules to be moved to the spam folder. With the advent of Spamhalter most of that changed and filter rules were not necessary to control spam.
I also use filtering to re-direct special types of mail to other special folders rather than New Mail because that mail might need special handling. Customer Orders or communications with key personnel or contractors for example.
For some reason however, there are several domains that automated spam detection defines as spam but in fact is not spam. That mail is important email received from customers, key personel or contractors. To prevent the automatic spam detection from placing these domains in the junk folder, I attempted to White List them without success. I then decided to use filters and move those messages to the New Mail folder should they be directed to the Junk Mail folder by spamhalter.
The reason I use filtering rules to do so is because I have many options available from which to select criteria for filtering in addition to being able to Move to any folder i want.
That mail previously detected as spam no longer goes to Junk Mail. That element is taken care of.
However, the current problem is that mail is NOT being DISPLAYED in the New Mail folder. I know that new mail HAS ARRIVED in the New Mail folder because notification .wav file sounds and indicates that mail is there. However I am NOT able to see that mail in the New Mail folder.
When that happens is I either have to close New Mail and re-open New Mail or Close Pegasus and re-open Pegasus.
I hope this is helpful. -- ragsman
