Check your POP3 (you don't say) settings. Make absolutely sure they are correct - username, password, ports.

Exclude the Pegasus Mail folders from anti-virus checking. Exclude Pegasus Mail from any monitoring software e.g. behavioural analysis programs.

 I've looked at some of the posts that seem similar to my issue, but I'm not particularly computer savvy, so I don't understand what I have to do to fix the problem.  When I check mail on Pegasus, most often I get a time-out error the first time, then the second time it works.  Occassionally, I get an error that says my username and password don't match up.  I also sometimes get sent e-mails returned to me.  I can't understand why it would be intermittent when I don't change anything.  I'm getting frustrated to the point of almost going back to...<shudder>...web mail.
