V 4.61 Message Preview line wrapping problem in Windows 7

I was testing using messages I'd written in plain text. No HTML to be seen at all as I recall.

I will have a look at some HTML messages as well, but I'm not worried about them, or this really.

Thank you.

Cheers

I've just updated several workstations to Pegasus 4.61. Some of them still with Windows XP, some with Windows 7. Message Preview > Wrap Long Lines is ON for all. Rt margin is set at 74 chars for all. It does not matter whether Preview is showing formatted or plain text.

The XP stations wrap correctly - when one grabs and shrinks the Window, Preview re-wraps as needed on the fly. For the Windows 7 machines, shrinking the window (either just the Mail Folders or the entire program window) does not trigger re-wrap. The message text requires scrolling to the right if the window gets too small.

Has anyone encountered this? Does anyone have a suggestion to avoid it? Thanks,

I can confirm the same behavior using 4.61 on a Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit machine as your Win7 machines  Even though the window is narrower than the characters as set in the options, it is defaulting to the number of characters as set in the options and enabling a slide bar. It doesn't reconfigure the wrap width for a smaller window. I normally run the mail folders maximised, so I don't see this problem normally.

I'll test my XP machine a bit later to see if it is ok as per your XP machines.

Cheers

Please revisit this issue when 4.62 is out.

Thanks. It's a minor issue, especially with their new, larger monitors . .

Using 4.62 this is still an issue.

It doesn't matter if BearHTML or IERenderer is used.

One thing I've noticed is if there are only hard carriage returns at the end of long lines, it will rejustify on the fly, but if there is a soft carraige return (word wrap), none of the message will rejustify.

Also, it doesn't matter if you shrink a preview window or a message reading window.

Cheers

Line wrapping in HTML messages is a completely different issue: While HTML usually wraps to the window width by default it heavily depends on the actual CSS styles used and on how tables and images are handled: IOW: It is possible to even prevent a forced line wrapping in HTML messages under certain circumstances.

With regard to plain text: If using Reformat long lines instead of Wrap long lines you'll notice that wrapping to the window width works as expected (and it tries to work in HTML with the above restrictions).
