Uverrse sending mail with Pegasus

Would you believe that I now can send mail, but could not receive it!!

I changed the port to receive mail back to 110 (AT&T wanted 465) and I am

now sending and receiving mail with Uverse using Pegasus. I am VERY happy.

I can only hope that someone here with AT&T Uverse can give me the solution to the SMTP problem with it and Pegasus. It is the "Port 25" problem. I have tried the other ports suggested as well as the "smtp.att.yahoo.com" configuration. Nothing seems to work.

I have search and called "tech support" (if you can call it support) and still can not send message.

Thanks. I can't be the only person with Uverse using AT&T.[*-)]

I have tried too many things and too many combinations.

To answer your question, yes. I have tried authentication. In fact that may be part of the problem. I thought maybe someone here would give me the exact set up they used with Uverse.

AT&T is no help and I have almost reached the end of my rope.

Thanks so much for your reply.

From what I can see on the net both smtp.att.yahoo.com and outbound.att.net (if that is your server) use direct ssl.

Additionally the username must be the full email address.

Have you tried these settings?

I might have finally gotten everything correct I just sent a test message and it was received.

The direct SSL and the direct log in combination might have been the problem.

Thanks a million for your suggestions. They were just the push I needed. I'll report back after another couple of messages.

You don't know what a help this is for me.
