Receiver receives my message in HTML or completely unreadable

Will do - once again thanks for your help and prompt reply.

Will do - once again thanks for your help and prompt reply.

Recently a lot of my email receipients have been receiving my emails in HTML or completely unreadable (looks like a whole lot of random characters and letters), although I have been sending the email in plain text.

Below is an example of what a receiver would receive

<html  xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en" lang="en"><head>
<title></title> <meta http-equiv="content-type"
content="text/html;charset=utf-8"/> <meta http-equiv="Content-Style-Type"
content="text/css"/> </head> <body> <div align="left"><font face="0"><span
style=" font-size:12pt">Hello,</span></font></div> <div align="left"><font
face="0"><span style=" font-size:12pt">I would like.... (and so on).

When I type the emails up they look fine in the PMail window. Sometimes I cut and paste text from Firefox, so this might also be something to do with the problem. Why do receipients receive unreadable emails from me?

My 2 questions are:

Can I force PMail to send messages only in plain text?

Also is there are function in PMail to send the message/email exactly as I see it in the PMail new message window? Something like WYSIWYG.

Thanks to anyone who can help.

The pasting is almost certainly the reason for creating HTML, but you can at least force Pegasus Mail to create both plain text and HTML versions by enabling Tools => Options => Sending mail  => Generate multipart/alternative versions ... But this doesn't explain why the recipients' email application(s) cannot handle HTML formatted messages unless they use pretty old ones.

Tools => Options => Message formatting => Disable all text styling options

This is mutually exclusive, you can have either plain text or WYSIWIG, not both of them at once.

idw,

Thank you for the quick reply. I will try the " disable all text styling options".

If I do use text copied from web-sites (using Firefox), will the option in PMail "Always paste plain text in preference to styles text" solve the problem of HTML being transfered in the copy from the web-sites?

Yes, but why don't you simply give it a try? If you copy a queued message to your new mail folder you can view the outgoing result.
