Revoking queued mail before send? - found solution!

If it is critical to know exactly when the server sent out the message then about the closest possible available is to Bcc: your own internet email address so you get a copy sent out by the server as the other addressee copies are sent from server.

My Problem:

I've composed a mail and clicked accidently on 'Send'.

After this I recognized that this mail is incomplete and I don't want to send it - but netherless I dont't want to delete it (just waiting some hours or days until it is ready to send).

In 'Queued mail' this mail shows of course as 'Ready to send'. How can I change this state to something like 'queued but not ready for send' ?

To answer possible questions:
I have a slow and not much stable internet-connection and therefore only dial-in when necessay - meaning: I collect all outgoing mails during a day and send them in a rush only some few times, and want to send the other mails except this one stated above - just putting it to something like 'hold'...

You cannot.  If it is an editable version in the queue you can open it in the editor and then save it instead of sending it.  IIRC, you will have to go back to the queue and delete the one ready to send though.  FWIW, I am sending my mail via the Mercury UDG and once I send it it's gone.  Makes you think twice at least before hitting the send button.  ;-)

I've found that the following steps will solve my problems:

1) Open 'File/Review queued Mail'
2) Double-click this message
3) Click 'Save' (as originally wanted)
4) Click 'Cancel' - confirming the warning message obout this
5) (in Queue Manager again) select the message
7) Click 'Delete' - confirm message

Status now:

This message is away from 'Queued Message' and found in 'File/Open saved message...'

To edit and resend it:

1) Open 'File/Open saved message...'
2) Double-click this message
3a) Click 'Save' (if only editing)
3b) Click 'Send' (if really intended)
4) Click 'Cancel' - confirming the warning message obout this
5) (in  Draft manager again) select the message
7) Click 'Delete' - confirm message (only if your really want - usually you will have a copy in 'Copies to self')

This procedere should be described in the help too!

@stephenson: I've written this just the time you wrote your reply - so I havent'read it before. But I guess it's a good appendix too :)

Hello Mike,
4) Click 'Cancel' - confirming the warning message obout this
it took me some time to understand that "Cancel" means the Cancel button of the message window (and not of the Save dialog). Maybe my fault.

For your way of collecting messages in the message queu and sending them later please remember this:
AFAIK your "Copies to self" get the time stamp of clicking the Message-"Send" button. The messages really sent of course will get the time stamp of their effective leaving your home.

Best regards
Wolfgang
