Running in "Single User Mode" Pegasus Mail 4.62 will fail (with WinXP 32bit), when e-mails are rendered with IERenderer - please see jpeg appended.

IERenderer 2.4.7.0.(0x800704C7) @025F7B46

The failed cache file (*.htm) exists without any subfolder in %APPDATA%\Pegasus Mail\ImageCache\ and can be opened by Internet explorer 8.

Rendering the same e-mail does not fail, when Pegasus Mail was started from another path in Netware mode .

Kind  Regards, Torsten

Where did you get this error dialog from (as shown in your screenshot), it's not one I implemented? And what happens if you try to open the file with IE using exactly the syntax shown in this dialog (i.e. with the double slash preceding the file name - provided the file actually exists: you can copy the contents of such a dialog to clipboard using Ctrl + C)?

BTW: If you tried to open the file from IE's history it will fail since these files are deleted immediately after closing the respective message in Pegasus Mail (unfortunately deleting the history entries themselves doesn't work reliably, otherwise they wouldn't occur at all). IOW: The error reported by IERenderer may not be related to the one shown in your screenshot.

And: The error code you quoted translates to: 0x800704C7 = The operation was cancelled by the user. Does it occur with all HTML messages or only certain ones?

Can you please install the MiniDump extension (and please allow it to create a Start menu group), make Pegasus Mail fail with the above error message and (while this dialog is still visible) launch the PMDebug Snapshot shortcut from MiniDump's Start menu group? This should provide me with some more details about where the error occurs (for details see MiniDump's ReadMe file).

What exactly is the difference (comparing these paths and comparing the cache paths)? Does it affect all clients or only certain ones, do they have different IE versions installed, maybe? Since the error appears to depend on a certain setup I'm afraid you're the only one who can figure out what exactly is causing this ...

Hello Michael,

I sent you a crash dump report. Also I have send you

the original email, that caused the fail,
the cache file, where IERenderer failed and
the cache file that was done successfull.

I have used the exactly same Pegasus Configuration now and always the single user mode is failed.
Only the commandline switches and the PMAIL.CFG are different. The mailbox, the programm directory, local Windows user profile - all is identical.

I tested 32-bit Windows XP SP3 without Netware Client and Windows Server 2003 R2 with Netware Client and some user accounts with Internet Explorer 8.

Best Regards, Torsten

Turned out that IERenderer fell over a double slash caused by a missing (Pegasus Mail) user name in single user mode (didn't know that in such a case there is no user name at all) which would otherwise become part of the cache path. Torsten, please mark your initial post as "resolved" ...
