Hello FJR,

Thomas Stephenson Sr adviced to create a new printer and when setting up the printer tell it

which tray to use. The user then selects the printer set to print using the specific tray.

This solution works. Thanks all, for your participation.

Ik heb een raar verschijnsel als ik mijn email wil uitprinten gaat het fout.

Ik heb de Canon MG5150 die heeft een achterste la en een cassette aan de voorzijde die standaard staat ingesteld. Het vreemde is dat hij altijd bij het printen de achterste la kiest die ik niet gebruik hoe ik de instellingen en adviezen van support nederland ook instel altijd blijft hij de achterste la kiezen terwijl de instellingen staan op voorste cassette. Nu zend ik de mail door naar Thunderbird waar hij het wel goed doet en dit is toch niet de bedoeling verder vind ik het een goed en mooi programma

Could you write this in english - please. I understand a little bit dutch but obviously it isn't enough and an answer woulg be impossible for me.

Which version of Pegasus are you using?

Which support advised you? Canon?

I took the liberty of translating with Google and got:

thanks ... but I think, my dutch is better than any babelfish in the internet. There are some special phrases I'm not shure about (as everytime if you're not a native speaker). Babelfish seems to have some more problems with phrases [:)]

The other problem is: I can't answer him writing dutch. I understand most "reading loud", because my birth home is not that far from the netherlands and the slang I learned from my grandpa is very similar to dutch. But I never learned to write dutch.

OK --- I'll give it a try ...

Pegasus for long time has a bug with printing. I don't know the reason and the real background, but it seems, Pegasus allways prints to standard papertray. It doesn't matter, if you choose something else in the options dialog within Pegasus. I'm not a good programmer and so I can't imagine, why David didn't fix that over the years, but it seems the bug it isn't only on David's side.

While Pegasus prints to "standard papertray", the drivers for printers have different suggestions, what is the "standard papertray":

what's defined in printerdrivers setup
what's defined in printers hardware (i.e. with big HP laserprinters standard is the last papertray)
the opened multifunction papertray
the opened and filled multifunction papertray

It seems that the first point isn't relevant any more with most printers. Depending on your printer, there may be a trick: Install the printerdriver twice on same port with same driverversion (reuse it), but changed configuration for papertrays (choose your fronttray there). Then print on that printer from within Pegasus. But I'm afraid this won't work with Pixma (like with Brother).

Another suggestion: the backtray seems to be the multifunction papertray. Is it always open? Give it a try closing it (if possible).

And at least: If you use IERenderer (that was the question for your version of pegasus) and want to print HTML-Mails ... the printing dialog of IERenderer is capable printing in the tray you want.
