An automated process sent me a 32MB text email. It arrived ok but then Pmail hung for 14 hours (overnight) failing to put it in the New Mail folder. I am not interested in blocking these things just wondered if there is a known limit to the size of emails Pmail can handle?

You need to increase the TCP Network timeout value to a larger number of seconds. Try 300. You find the dialog by going to menu: Tools/Internet Options/Default Timeout.

Do you have Content Control running?  Try limiting the the amount of scanning done to about 1-2K so that you are not scanning large encoded graphics.

Addresses in the Global Whitelist are not submitted to Content Control and Spamhalter.
