Can send emails fine, but cannot receive

Not sure what to tell you here's a couple of things to try.

1.   Try using CTRL+Configuration+Manage local users and edit one of the users.

2.   Send a message to postmaster using the Reload users.

*   The mail server now has its own password file, created and
    managed on the "Mail server" configuration page. This is not
    covered in the help yet, but you can create any number of mail
    server passwords that can be used in a "PASSWORD" command to
    handle the new operations described below. If you have no
    password file, then no password will ever succeed and the new
    operations will fail automatically - hence the operation is secure by
    default. Mail server passwords are simply one-per-line (like
    everywhere else) and cannot contain the character ';' (semi-colon).

*   A new mail server command, "KILLFILE" has been added. This
    command allows you to manipulate the MercuryS killfile by mail. At
    present, the only implemented command is "KILLFILE ADD", which
    adds the parameter you supply to the MercuryS killfile. An example
    is at the end of this message.

*   A new mail server command, "RELOAD" has been added. This
    command allows you to force Mercury to re-read certain
    configuration files by mail. At present, the only implemented
    command is "RELOAD USERS", which takes no parameters, and
    tells Mercury to reload the user database, PMAIL.USR.

Both of these commands need to be preceded by a PASSWORD
command specifying a valid password from the password file created in
the mail server configuration dialog.

Examples (these examples assume that the password 'foo4u' is
specified in the Mail Server password file):

* To add *@163.com to the MercuryS killfile, issue these commands:

      PASSWORD foo4u
      KILLFILE ADD *@163.com

* To force Mercury to reload its user database, issue these commands:

      PASSWORD foo4u
      RELOAD USERS

The commands are not case sensitive - I've shown them in uppercase only to emphasize them.

I plan to add more commands of this kind - administrative in nature - and will be adding a level of discrimination to the password file to allow passwords to work only for certain types of operation (hence the reason why ';' cannot be used in a password).

My domain is abovethebarbrewing.com, and I can send emails from my user (ebola) just fine, but I cannot send emails to it. I am using non-standard ports.

Ok, Google tried to deliver but it's possible that the DNS system is sending the message to the wrong IP address. Your domain does not have an assigned IP address as far as I can see from a query of the DNS system and this error message does not say which IP address failed.

I've also got a webserver up that works fine at that domain, and several other gaming servers that people are able to connect to just fine. I'm not sure why I can't send emails to it.

edit: I can send email from ebola@abovethebarbrewing.com TO ebola@abovethebarbrewing.com, and I receive it without errors. I've also tried Hotmail, and that doesn't work. I've disabled relaying and set up the logging.

When I check the logs, only the email that I sent locally is there. Nothing else shows up.

Not sure either but since the domain has no IP address assigned that is available to the outside world I suspect this is the problem.

Does a MercuryS session log show anything other than local connections? Does it show any access at all from any of the MX hosts? If it does not then I thing that there is a problem with the setup of the Google MX hosts.

I did find an A record for the domain abovethebarbrewing.com (67.171.148.51) and tried to send via telnet to port 25591. It worked but the address Ebola does not exist. The mail sent to postmaster@abovethebarbrewing.com was accepted.

You need to check the C:\XAMPP\MERCURYMAIL\MAIL\pmail.usr file for this user and an associated matching subdirectory.

Not sure that you want to do this since it looks like mail to postmaster@abovethebarbrewing.com is accepted but mail to ebola@abovethebarbrewing.com is bounced. Apparently the MX hosts know how to contact your server.

This is the one I sent directly to the Mercury server using port 25591. This was addressed to both the postmaster and Ebola accounts. Are you sure this one was not the one addressed to the postmaster. Look though the headers for a line X-Envelope-To: And I suspect this will say something other than Ebola for the username. I also sent one via the MX hosts as well to both accounts using the normal SMTP port.

This looks normal but I'm not sure you have the postmaster account since apparently the user "4dmln" is assigned as the postmaster.

Correct, this goes to the account you set as the postmaster in Configuration | Mercury core "Username of postmaster"

Every system capable of receiving Internet mail must have a user called postmaster, to whom problem and status reports are sent. The postmaster account is usually an alias to a real user on your system, and this is the expectation within Mercury. Enter in this field the username of the user on the machine where Mercury is running who is to act as your postmaster. While it is permissible to have a non-local address as your postmaster address, we strongly recommend you do not do this, since it can create real problems and mail loops when the remote machine is unreachable. This setting is mandatory - Mercury cannot run properly without it.

I'm at a loss. I'm not sure why I can send it to the postmaster, but none of the other accounts.
