It's a good server and I can telnet into port 25 and get an answer. Either you have port 25 blocked or there is something else blocking your connection. Are you running anything at all between MercuryE and the internet? Proxy? Anti-Spam? Anti-Virus?

FWIW, I send via MercuryE to Hotmail all the time and have no problems at all. If you are using a randomly assigned IP address or you do not have rDNS entry (rDNS) this may cause your connection to be rejected but usually you would see some error message in the session log.
