It's possible that your IP is on a blackhole list. 

Hi,

 I am using the v4.51 mercury mail server. When i send emails to third party accounts like gmail, msn using SMTP end to end client it doesnt work.I get the error messages as below and cannot deliver the email. Any help from experts like you is appreciated

turn on session log, and report back:

Connection error.

Receiving end dropped the connection for some reason, the session log will show you why.

Thanks Peter for the quick reply. After enabling the session log. I see this error. Peer connect failure. Any advise on how to resolve this issue

 It's a good server and I can telnet into port 25 and get an answer.  Either you have port 25 blocked or there is something else blocking your connection.  Are you running anything at all between MercuryE and the internet? Proxy? Anti-Spam?  Anti-Virus?

 FWIW, I send via MercuryE to Hotmail all the time and have no problems at all.  If you are using a randomly assigned IP address or you do not have rDNS entry (rDNS) this may cause your connection to be rejected but usually you would see some error message in the session log.
