retrieving folders

My old desktop suffered the Blue Screen of Death a while ago. The guys at the 'pooter shop across the road were able to save my files to a directory on my laptop called 'Old C'  Now i want to get PMail working again. I have moved the folders and mail lists over to PMail on the main C drive, but Peg won't recognize them. I downloaded the latest version but no luck. The help key in "other problems" gives me:

Why can't I see some of/all the mail folders I created using older versions of Pegasus Mail?
Pegasus Mail supports hierarchical foldering using "trays", or containers in which folders can be placed. When it first runs, Pegasus Mail creates a file called MAIN.PMT which is your main tray and contains all the folders it can find in your home mailbox: from this point, it uses the file to maintain your hierarchy. If you create a folder using an earlier version of Pegasus Mail after you have run this version, the new folder will not be added to the hierarchy file and Pegasus Mail will not be able to see it.
[*] Solution: run Pegasus Mail, and press <^L> to select a folder; choose "Check tray list"from the Folders menu. This instructs Pegasus Mail to look for any folders which might be missing from your hierarchy and add them to it.

Problem is, the command  Check tray list doesn't appear on this version. I wonder if it isn't an old command from some long previous version. Anyway, does anyone know how to deal with this? Some of those old files have been following me around for almost 20 years, and I'm kind of attached to them.

Thanks for your consideration

Goto Help ->  About Pegasus -> Info, mark what you see there and copy it here!

I thought this would be the mistake :-)  There's a difference.- you see?

I think you had your maildirectory  at C:\PMAIL\MAIL\JOHN with your old PC and/or old installation of Pegasus. There you created a user JOHN (maybe in older versions of Pegasus you were asked for name of first user - don't remeber that exactly).

With newer Pegasus the first user is called ADMIN. So ... if you allready used new installation for getting mails, move all mails in folders to new mail folder. On closed Pegasus copy the files in your old C:\PMAIL\MAIL\JOHN to the new C:\PMAIL\MAIL\Admin. Overwrite existing files (you may have to do some reconfiguration afterwards). Start Pegasus and you should have your folders ... including the trays.

Thanks, that worked, up to the point that I have all my old mail, but not in trays. Any ideas about how to retrieve them?

That information is contained within hierarch.pm and should have been restored when you copied that file across.

If that file was corrupted for whatever reason you will need to set up your trays again.
