Missing sounds?

Thanks "rocket". I basically did what you said and found that the sound "Question" was missing. I made it chord.wav.

If anyone knows the map of actions to sounds (e.g. "Do you want to make a copy" provokes the "Question" sound) that would be useful.

Hi all

I have recently upgraded to Pegasus 4.63 and at the same time to Windows 7 (from Windows 2000... it's called jumping through hyperspace and, as Douglas Adams would say, it feels like being drunk: ask any glass of water!).

I used to get sounds whenever I sent an email -- that's to say, whenever, having composed it, I clicked send (or pressed <Ctrl><Enter>) to add it to the queue. Now it's silent, though I do get a sound when I delete mail. Now this is either a feature of 4.63 (no sound here) or else the modified sound scheme (which I part inherited from my Dad who set Win 7 up for me and which I've also customised myself) has a missing sound, silence, where this sound "is" in Pegasus.

What I'm after discovering, then, is (a) does 4.63 *have* a sound for send mail (many people could easily answer this one), and if so, does anyone know which sound it "maps" to in Windows 7? For example, and to clarify my second question, "delete an email" maps to  "Exclamation" in the sound scheme. Over a dozen sounds are missing and I'm hoping for an answer that will save me sending that many dummy messages, altering the sound scheme between each, which is the brute force way to get my answer...

It would be a bonus to be directed to a list of sound mappings. Are there supposed to be any other sounds apart from send and delete?

Thanks

Ben

The only sound option that can be set from within Pmail is for incoming mail. (Tools | Options | Reporting/logging)

There isn't a sound associated with Delete, but if you have the Confirm Delete option on, you will get a system sound when the confirmation dialog box pops up.

The sound you possibly were getting with Send might also be a system sound.

Go to your Windows 7 Control Panel / Appearance and Personalization / Personaiization / Change sound effects. If you see a speaker icon next to a sound then it's enabled. If there isn't then it's disabled. Try playing with the disabled sounds first. You can also check those that are enabled by playing their sounds, to make sure they are configured properly.

Cheers
