530 Recipient refused

These particular authentication settings are located in the Security tab of you SMTP host configuration (Tools > Internet Options > Sending (SMTP) tab.

I would think that you would not be able to send any mail if your authentication was not working so you may need to confirm that it is configured correctly then follow up with your ISP for additional recommendations.

Keep in mind that the POP3 and SMTP hosts used are identity specific so if you have configured multiple hosts and use multiple identities be sure that all identities are using the correctly configured hosts.

Running Pegasus Mail v4.62 with windows 2000. Have had no problems for ages. Just recently on intermittent days can't send e mails. Get error message " 530 Recipient refused. User reached daily transfer limit (max mails)" . Some days it sends OK, others not. what is error 530 and how do I fix it? Just tried loading v4.63. Same problem.

Your ISP has set a limit on the number of messages you can send, check with your ISP for details.

Thanks Thomas, but we have gone through this obvious step. ISP replied "

Unfortunately we can't provide you with support on

your own email software which is certainly where this problem will be as our

system simply stores the emails on the server (which you can see through your

webmail account) ready for you to download via your software.

If it's not downloading it will be some kind of

configuration in your software as our mail server has done it's job by receiving

the email and storing it for you to download"

Apologies, Thomas. That quote relates to a previous problem which is now resolved, so ignore it.

My ISP's response to the current problem was :

"Okay, within your email account settings, make sure

you have 'My outgoing mail server requires authentication' enabled, this should

solve the issue for you."

I can't see how to configure this in Pegasus Mail, nor am I confident thaat this solves the problem.
