Added a New User- Exits When Minimized

That was it! I'd never encountered the "hide the taskbar icon" before with any of the other users!!

I suppose that's why the "Mailbox locked dialog" always showed up when I restarted for this user....it was already running.

(I'm surprised it didn't show as a running application in Windows Task Manager!!??)

THANKS!!!!!!

Perhap Pegasus remain running but both the taskbar entry and the tray icon are hidden.  Unhide any hidden tray icons to see if Pegasus is there.

Another way to determine if Pegasus is running is

to open Task Manager and look for a running process named winpm-32.exe.

If Pegasus is running but is not in the taskbar you may have it configured to hide the taskbar item.  Check the settings in Tools > Options> User interface > Reporting/logging.

 Using  4.63

Just added a new user by having the administrator use: addresses > user management > new.

This user doesn't work like it should:

1)  Every time I minimize the program, it exits.

2)   I have IE Renderer configured to be used, but every time I try to print, it asks me if I want to use it.

3)   "Current Addresses" does not show any of the addresses I've recently used.

Suggestions???

PS: I have 5 users that always have Pegasus open. (I use the  C:\PMAIL\winpm-32.exe -MS -i user_name  shortcut)

The original 4 users work perfectly....only the newest one acts so strange!!  Not sure if this is relevant?

thnx

We need more information on you setup.  Is this one copy of WinPM that has multiple users, or are you set up on a network?

Go to Help | About Pegasus Mail, click on 'Info' and post the output here.

Sounds like some kind of misreading: Do you refer do the following message:

You're about to print a formatted (HTML) message:
For best results use the print processing of the HTML renderer:
You may launch it using the keyboard shortcut <Ctrl + Shift + P>
or via the menu entry for printing that is displayed by the HTML
renderer button on the toolbar, top right.

The configuration dialog of this renderer also allows you to modify
Pegasus Mail's printing routines for doing this automatically on future attempts.

Do you want to try this print option now?

And if so, did you consider following the advice of setting IERenderer as the default printer for HTML messages via its configuration dialog?

This is one copy of WinPM that has multiple users, it is not on a network.

When I woke the pc up from it's sleep mode this morning, this user had shut down (all other users were still running) and lost all it's settings (smtp, etc.)

Here's that information you asked for:

I used the configuration dialog and it seems to have fixed the problem for now.

I'll have to see if it stays "fixed" after this user crashes and the other settings are lost again.

thnx

Pegasus Mail updates its configuration files when it closes so it needs to close cleanly in order for all changes made during that session to stick.  If the user was added and configured but Pegasus never closed cleanly then configuration settings would have been lost.

Good point!

It probably never closed properly because it always closes when minimized for some strange reason.

I tried a regular exit and restarted it.

It still closes (crashes????) when minimized!!!

Thoughts?

Exits or crashes (i.e. do you get a Mailbox locked dialog when restarting the same user)?

Perhap Pegasus remain running but both the taskbar entry and the tray icon are hidden.  Unhide any hidden tray icons to see if Pegasus is there.

Another way to determine if Pegasus is running is

to open Task Manager and look for a running process named winpm-32.exe.

If Pegasus is running but is not in the taskbar you may have it configured to hide the taskbar item.  Check the settings in Tools > Options> User interface > Reporting/logging.
