"Both check and send mail in one operation": doesn't always respond.

Thanks.  You have solved my problem.

The solutions appear to be:

1. Tools > Internet Options > Receiving (Pop 3) > Idle UNCHECK

and

2. Tools > Internet Options > Receiving (Pop 3) > Edit > General > Scheduling SET TO ZERO

Now all three of my buttons respond instantly WHENEVER I click them.

Thank again.

One of the three "quick check" buttons in Pegasus which are meant to enable "quick send",

"quick check", and "both" doesn't always work

"Quick send", and "Quick check" both work, but sometimes when I know there

is a message waiting to be downloaded the "check and send" button does not work.

I know this because if I then use "File > Selective Mail Download" the dialogue box comes up

and asks me if I wish to download the message that is waiting for me. (So because of the problem

with the button I have got used to always going directly to "Selective Mail Download".)

Does anybody have an idea why this button may not always work for me?

I'm using 4.63 Win 32 on a 64-bit system.

And I've had this problem when I was running an earlier version of Pegasus on XP.

I've just decided it would be worth getting it to work 100% if it's possible.

Perhaps there is some setting I need to change?

Thanks.

Are you saying that when this happens the 'Check your POP3 host for new mail' button does work? Or that you can only get your mail via Selective download?

I've not heard of similar problems on 64bit-Win.  Have you looked at the internet session logs to see what is happening?

(Tools / Internet options, checkbox on 'General' tab.   Before posting any logs here, ensure you remove username & password.)

In order to have check for mail work via button or File menu or shortcut keys three things must be true: any set Idle time must expire, any set value must expire plus any not check more often than setting in tools, Internet options, Receiving and Edit screen must also expire.
