According to MSDN this translates to An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.
The same forwarded mail goes through with "Encryption.." box checked.
Since encryption modifies the contents seen by the server it must be something within the contents of the message causing the error.

Hi,
I am using idw's S/MIME Front-End for email encryption.
But for few of my recipients I was unchecking the "Encrypt.." check-box for specific emails, as they had complained about some error regarding email certificate on their side (outlook express) while accessing my mail.
That's where the problem lies. If I uncheck the "Encrypt.." box for a particular mail, I end up invariably with -
7: Socket read error 2746.
error while sending such mails .
But if I don't uncheck Encrypt check-box, the same mails (new/reply/forward) go through properly.
How can we address this issue?
Thanks & Regards,
Rad.

What happens if you disable the extension (rename its fff-file and restart Pegasus Mail)?

I renamed PMSMMain.fff in D:\PMAIL\Programs\PMSM\Resources folder but still Front-end is active for PMail.
Which file I should rename?
Or should i change Tools->options->Encryption->Default Encryption Method to "Built-in Encryptor"?
Currently it is "idw's S/MIME Front-end".
Thanks & Regards,
Rad.
Ok, I tried sending mail with same scenario (PMSMMain.ff renamed in Resources).... Front-end is disabled even if it shows in the menu.
Though Front-end is disabled, same error persists.
When I uncheck "Encrypt.." box, I get following error -
[*] Connection established to 202.54.124.244
>> 0036 220 webmail37.rediffmail.com ESMTP
<< 0020 EHLO [1.187.147.6]
>> 0030 250-webmail37.rediffmail.com
>> 0016 250-PIPELINING
>> 0014 250 8BITMIME
<< 0034 MAIL FROM:<radhx@rediffmail.com>
>> 0008 250 ok
<< 0027 RCPT TO:<hxrad@yahoo.com>
>> 0008 250 ok
<< 0006 DATA
>> 0046 354 Start mail input; end with <CRLF>.<CRLF>
7: Socket read error 2746.
And when sent with "Encrypt.." box checked, Forward/Reply went through.
Looks like not Front-end issue but PMail one. Or is it some missing setup?
Thanks & Regards,
Rad.

You need to rename all fff-files starting with PMSM... in the respective (Pegasus Mail) user's mailbox directory, the ones you renamed aren't used by Pegasus Mail, they are used for enabling the extension for additional users only.
