Sorry, the link problem was my fault.  I didn't have it set to IE location.  I migrated files to a new computer and I had used firefox in the past.  The browser location was set to that, which now doesn't exist[:D]

I do love Pegasus mail and have been using it now for many years.

Are these problems related to windows 7?

The links inside emails seem to work only sporadically.  Even the links within Pegasus to comunity and the Pegasus website don't work.

Spamhalter requires a special directory to drop mail into that.  Isn't there any way that emails recognized by spamhalter can be immediately sent to the deleted emails folder?  It's a real pain to define a folder, then have to select all and then delete.

This has bothered me for years and the fix was promised years ago:  Pegasus cuts off the subject at 30 or so characters.  In many cases that leaves almost nothing for me to judge if the email is spam because norton adds [Norton Antispam] to the message and my site adds ***SPAM*** in addition to that. Here's a typical subject:

[Norton AntiSpam]***SPAM*** Ladies Watches

but Pegasus cuts off the last part and shows only this in the listing of messages:

[Norton AntiSpam]***SPAM*** Ladies

SpamHalter does move bad mail into a designated folder (Junk or Suspicious Mail in my case). But if you want to just delete it, go into SpamHalter setup and change the folder name.

I notice you mention Windows 7.  If you are currently on Windows 7, you must ensure that you use the root directory suggested by Pegasus Mail install process (c:\pmail) not c:\program files\pmail. There are all kinds of file rights problems with installing in the Program Files tree.

As for subject line truncation, this is a well known feature that is being fixed in release 5 of Pegasus Mail. You could investigate truncating the markup on the subject line. You dont need three asterisks before and after the Sp*m word.  And Norton can be told to use a different markup method too.

For spam halter:

I changed the name of the folder to "Deleted Messages" which is the name of the folder for deleted messages. However when Pegasus is first opened, that folder doesn't exist so spamhalter does nothing with the messages as they are downloaded.  It won't create the folder.  I have set a filter so that any email that contains "spam" in the subject wll get deleted. That works fine but it seems that spamhalter is triggered before that filter.  I suspect  if I could make spamhalter work after that filter, then it would see the deleted messages folder and work properly... that is, if there was at least one with spam in its subject so the folder is created.

I have heard that there are problems with Pegasus and Windows 7.  I have installed Pegasus in C:\PMAIL  Still links within emails usually don't work.  I have to copy and paste them to my browser (IE)
