Disappearing messages

Thanks, Paul.

The first thing I did was to check for filtering rules but neither of them have any rules set up. If it happens again I will check the .cnm's.

Cheers!

Hello

I have encountered a strange thing. We use Pegasus Mail and Mercury. Both are installed on the same server (Windows Storage Server 2008 64bit). Pegasus Mail is invoked across the network. Authentication for each Pegasus Mail user folder is configured so that Authenticated Users have Write permission, while the Domain Administrator and the owner of the inbox have Full Control.

Earlier this week one our staff reported that she had received two messages that had been forwarded internally by another member of staff. After reading them she had closed Pegasus Mail and after re-opening it could not find the messages. I used the Find feature to search for the messages but they could not be found. She has configured Pegasus Mail so read messages remain in the New mail folder.

This morning the same thing happened to the same person. A few minutes later another member of staff reported that a message they had received a few weeks ago had disappeared. This message had not been read. When I searched their account for the message it was not found. I restored the message from our catchall account.

Anyone know what might be happening here? Both their  folders contain less than 600 files and their .pmm's are well under the 2GB limit.

Thanks!

Possibilities - filter that is (re)moving those messages on folder close or another bit of software (anti-virus, virus, indexer etc.) that is interfering and/or removing them.

As they should be left in NMF they would be separate .cnm files.
