Try using UTF-8.

I have a new laptop with Windows 7. Emails sent to different people arrived with the £ pound sign showing as A3.

An email to myself was received showing the sign, as expected.

In Pegasus/Advanced settings, MIME is ISO-8859-1.

In Pegasus/Messages and replies, MIME features is ON.

In Pegasus/Sending mail, Allow 8 bit MIME message encoding is OFF.

Any suggestions?

Many thanks.

The sender could mark the html stream charset as CP1252 which allows 8-bit bytes to be included, such as x'A3.

It can be coded by the sender in one of three forms: x'A3, £, or £   So it is the sender that must correct their coding

Sorry, but this reply means nothing to an average user.

Why did it not happen on an older version of Pegasus, running with Windows XP?

Thanks.

If you are using Bearhtml to render your html version of messages, you can set the default font by adding a line in Bearhtml.ini that has:

 defaultFontName=Arial Unicode MS

This will correctly render x'A3 as a UK pound, or correctly render £ as a UK pound
