Mercury Upgrade from 4.62 to 4.74

When I upgrade I just take a straight copy of the whole mecury directory.

The upgrade to 4.74 was straight forward.

We are currently running Mercury version 4.62. It is running on a Windows 2003 server. We would like to upgrade to version 4.74. Can anyone give me some instruction/tips/things that should be backed up first? I would appreciate it. Thanks
