How to "Clean Out" a User's Account?

Thanks for the info.....I think I'll follow your advice!

Using v4.63 with 5 different users (accounts.) I typically have 4 of these open all the time.

I want to use one of these that's never used for a new user and the "Options" and "Internet Options" should work out fine with a few minor changes.

The problem is the user I want to convert has tens of thousands of emails/folders, etc.

Is there a simple way to delete all of the emails and folders I no longer will need without losing the "Options" and "Internet Options" information?

 Which files should i retain?

thnx!!

There is a guide to Pegasus Mail filenames and extensions that is a valuable helpful resource for issues like this.  Find it at:

I wouldn't go that route though.  It can be tedious and will maintain an unknown number of residual outdated entries in the configuration files.

It sounds like the new user will be configured similarly to an existing user so I would create a new user and use a print out the pmail.ini file of an existing user as a guide in configuring the new user.  Files you might want to copy from the existing mailbox are the .PND files which contain the POP3 and SMTP host configurations.  Be careful though because old .PND files can be left mailbox folders so you may not want them all.  They are viewable with a text editor so it's pretty easy to identify which ones you want to maintain.  You can copy the existing addressbook (.PMR)  files too if they are valuable to the new user.
