 I have read that about -roam and understand it quite well, just @ 72.8 years of age the mind is not with me most of the time, what I am saying is when copying the "PMail.cfg" file over to the 'Micro SD' card "I" had neglected to edit that file and change to DRIVE letter from my USB to the card.  I went back through the operation that was supposed to have been done and thought I had done, WRONG!, it has been done now though.  Yes, I had all entries correct in the Icon (link) file to run Pegasus because my mail finally came down because of another ERROR I had made in setting up the connection to the server.  When that was discovered and my mail made a showing caused me think, "then this other problem could be very simple," "retrace your steps, DUMMY!!!"  Which I had just done before coming here to check on this DUMB mistaken request for an explanation.

 Yes, when I make an error or mistake I admit my error or mistake.  I take the blame for some things that go wrong and credit for those that do work well, the later one is the smallest list.  I am proud but very honest and will admit when needed.

 A very large Thank YOU!! for this HELP that is very well put and do not shy away from using the HELP file that came with Pegasus it is well written.  Just I have a problem in locating the exact point for the problem I am facing.  I read over some other parts and FORGET what I was originally looking for, side tracked, and then spend maybe 1 or 2 days before getting back to my original trouble.  So your quoting of the HELP File is good for me and maybe another out here that is has the same experience.

Installed Pegasus v4.63 and discovered it could be placed on a Micro SD card or an external H/D USB type.  So I did install it on my external USB drive and all went well with many e-mail being downloaded, setting up the "SPAM Halter", learning how to train for SPAM and NON-SPAM plus many other features.  Found my Micro SD card after many days and decided to move it to this card, instead of just copying it to the card and then needing to go through the "Registry" to change all references to the SD card just do another install then copy just the "Mail" folder over after the install.  Dummy me just made a few errors in the install and could not get it to Check Mail, fixed that and now neither copy accesses my original mail boxes from a couple of days ago.  Any ideas?  I am running out or maybe I just never had a clue . . I have three e-mail addies to keep track for me and my Wife's so maybe I can keep up with her friends. 

 My Wife passed on 13 May, 2012 Mother's Day of all times . . TIA for the condolences, as that was shared with another they all have been very kind.  Most of her friends have said, "that is so unexpected" I reply, "if it were expected it would have been murder, we are all shocked and saddened."  This is also my way of letting you know "I am back" , , also know you never missed me.  Had used Pegasus since about the very beginning or very close to it, about 1995 or 6.

Not only is this about the BEST forum and the most helpful I have found, hold membership some where around 55 or 60, which I do not visit very often to any one, only when there is a need.  I took about 2.5 year trip around other e-mail clients and none were good enough for me, my Wife was not much of a computer user and did not like Pegasus.  Too complicated is her excuse, she wanted to go back to Eudora, when she saw how it had changed that was out as well.  I had to change mine so I could learn how to use it so I could teach her, went through many before setting her up in "eMail Client" which would only allow two (2) addies per installation.  THE END of that story, "I am back"

The problem is that the paths to the mailbox folders are contained in the configuration files contained in the mailbox folder.  So whey you copy a mailbox folder the paths must be identical or else you run into problems with not finding the mailbox folders.  When working from a removable drive like a flash drive or SD card you should use the -ROAM command line switch. 

I don't like quoting the help file because of the RTFM connotation so please understand that is NOT what I'm saying.  Pegasus Mail has an excellent help file so often times a quote from it is a fluent and concise way to provide an answer, especially when provided in the context of a specific question.  So, quoted from the help file:

-ROAM  This option tells Pegasus Mail that it should ignore the configured drive letter when locating user mailboxes and mail files, and should instead use the drive letter of the drive from which WINPM-32.EXE was run. If Pegasus Mail and your mailbox directories are located on the same physical drive, you should always use this option. -ROAM greatly simplifies running the program on Peer-to-Peer and non-NetWare networks, because it allows the same copy of the program to be run no matter what drive letter mappings exist on the particular workstation where it runs. This switch also allows you to install a complete, working copy of Pegasus Mail, complete with mailboxes, onto a memory stick, and to use that memory stick in any computer where it is subsequently plugged. You must not use this switch if Pegasus Mail and your mailbox directories cannot be accessed using the same drive letter. This switch is ignored and has no effect in either Novell NetWare operating mode.
