Problem recovering a deleted file.

Hi Guy,  Thanks for you response.  It took me a while to get around to this but unfortunately was unable to fix the problem.  Ergo, I eliminated the entire folder and after a couple of false starts am now able to recover a deleted email.   Thanks again.  Don

During the past few months I've not been able to read or recover deleted files.   If I try to read the file Pagasus freezes.   If I move the deleted file to the new mail folder, the From and Subject appear as they should but the contents are from some other deleted message.  Sometimes its the same wrong one or it could be a different wrong email.  Any ideas.?

Are stating that there are messages in the "Deleted messages" folder that you wish to undelete, but are not able to view. And when you try to move them to the "New mail" folder the messages are corrupt?

Try this. Right-Click the "Deleted messages folder. In "Folder information" note the Filename. Also note the "Home mailbox location" found at Help > Info. Close Pegasus, navigate to the "Home mailbox location" and copy that .PMM file someplace. Run the mbxmaint_ui.exe utility (found in the PMail\Programs directory) and Repair the .PMM file. The utility will rebuild a .PMI file to match that .PMM file. You may also want to consider having the utility Compact that same .PMM file. If the report from the utility is good, replace the .PMI and .PMM pair into the "Home mailbox location".
