Pegasus not sending messages to certain addresses

OK, problem solved, sort of. After looking at the session log, and not seeing a problem, I called my internet provider again. This time they checked a blacklisted site, and discovered their server is being blocked. They siad it would probably take a few days to get it un blocked. Thanks for everyone's help.

Cheers....Vince

This is strange. Suddenly Pegasus will not send messages to any computers with the address "wavecable.com."  Mail to these addresses went through just fine a couple of days ago. This is happening on both my computer and my wife's computer. We are getting no bounce back messages when we send these messages. However when we send messages to these same address using webmail, they go through just fine, which leads me to believe it's Pegasus that has the problem.  Any help would be appreciated. Can't even begin to imagine where to begin to diagnose the problem.

It could be that the messages are being successfully transmitted to wavecable.com but not being delivered for some reason.  In the Tools | Internet Options screen is an option to "Create Internet session logs".  Enable this then send a message to a wavecable.com address.  Check the log which will be a file in the form of TCPxxxx.WPM located in your mailbox directory.  Don't forget to disable the session logging once you are done troubleshooting.  Be careful if you post contents of the log because credentials are logged in plain text so you'll want to obfuscate that content.

From the Pegasus Mail help file:

Create Internet session logs (advanced diagnostic use only) - Checking this control tells Pegasus Mail to create special log files that show the entire exchange of information between it and the servers it connects to. Each session will be created in a file called TCPxxxx.WPM in your home mailbox directory (the "xxxx" is replaced by four digits). Creating session logs will slow down the performance of your system somewhat, and you should be aware that any username and password information exchanged between Pegasus Mail and the server will be shown in the log, *even* if you use SSL to secure the connection. Session logs are primarily useful if you need to debug a problem between Pegasus Mail and one of the servers it connects to - you should enable the option only on instructions from a system administrator or from Pegasus Mail technical support. [ Technical note: this control has thesame effect as using a "-Z 32" commandline switch when you run Pegasus Mail ]

Hi Brian,

Thanks for your help. I enable the session log, and now have the session file on my desktop. However I don't have the software to open the file. What software do I need to open this file. Thanks again for your help.

Cheers....Vince

Session log files are .wpm extension in your home mail box location. They are plain text so can be opened with Notepad, Wordpad or many others.

OK, I have the file open, but it's all greek to me. What should I be looking for. Or should I just copy it and send it to you?
