New issue,

bfluet,

Excuse me for taking so long to get back to you on this issue.  Have been checking all of the addies in my address book and found nothing out of the ordinary.  All addresses are correct not any additional signs as you had suggested.  Did note that one of the names had double quotes around a middle initia and did remove them.  That is all that I could identify.  NO, not using any "Recently used addresses" as far as I know, previously used addies were not supposed to be used.  Did check for that selection and unckecked it, "Recently used addresses."  Do not normally check that, do not remember checking it either, is now cleared.

Have not been able to do any testing to see if that has made the correction for that problem, yet.  Will post back here when that is done, good or bad.

It started a few days ago and am stumped as to what is the cause.

 I

am not doing anything different than when I first started using PMail

again just a short time ago.  Not all messages sent have this issue, yet

the message is still sent and delivered.  The only thing that seems to

be the same is when I send out messages using "BCC:" with that field

being suppressed.  I do place a valid email addy in the "To:" field, it

is my other addy.  The message is immediately returned to me:

From:    Mail Delivery System <>
    To:    Self
    Subject:    Mail Delivery Failure.

Am not familiar with this issue below:

"Delivery has failed on the enclosed message for the following
reasons reported either by the mail delivery system on the mail
relay host or by the local TCP/IP transport module:

   501 Syntax error in arguments"

Yet my message that was addressed to me is delivered to me as well to the "BCC:" field recipients.  Any IDEAS?

I am not arguing with anyone so why?:  I know arguments are command line instructions or some special instructions.

I looks like there is a syntax error in either the BCC or To field.  If you are using address completion from either the recently used list or the address book you should check for an invalid address in those.  I suspect an entry in the recently used list because it is very easy for an invalid address to end up in it.

I wonder if the term "argument" in this case means an invalid address in a multi-address field.  For instance, if the To: field contained "me@domain.com,@" the message would get delivered to "me@domain.com" but a delivery failure would be generated on the second address which is seen only as "@".  This would be construed as a syntax error since there is no user or domain portion and it is the second argument in the To: field.
