Cannot download messages from ISP

Thank you. Your suggestions - with some advice from a neightbour - have helped me out and I am OK again. But it does remind me that I should take these technical matters more seriously. Delay in reply due to need to get through Christmas and a big birthday before getting down to it again.

Apparently due to changing my ISP password, Pegasus seems to have been corrupted. Although I can send messages, the ISP rejects either username or password.

Would this work as a solution?

  • Copy everything to a memory stick
  • Delete Pegasus entirely from computer
  • Download the program again
  • Delete all applications from the files on the memory stick
  • Copy just the messages back onto the comuter

Are there better ideas?

Thanks for any help.

Seems extreme. Have you tried resetting the server definitions and if so what are the session logs telling you?

Thank you.

But my! I have been using Pegasus since 1995 and am completely ignorant. Where can I find 'sessions log'? What are my 'server definitions' and how do I reset them?

I must do better!

Tools | Internet options | Receiving/Sending.

Check that your POP3 definition is correct, including Security if relevant.

If you still have problems turn on session logs under Tools | Internet options | General.

Have a look at the help files first.
