Disabling signatures for replies.

Another option is to Reply with a Template which can set the Identity. However I do not know how it will work with HTML emails.

I know that Pegasus makes it easy to select whether or not a signature is added when creating or replying to an email.  I was wondering if there was a way to make the default for replies No Signature while leaving the default for new mail as signature enabled?

I don't know of a way to control the default signature set by new message vs. replies.  Consider using glossary entries for signatures.  They offer a great flexibility allowing you to place the entry anywhere in any message with minimal keystrokes.  My default signature consists of the keystrokes 'b' 'f' Ctrl+e which is the glossary entry abbreviation of "bf" followed by Ctrl+e to insert the entry.  Consider these others:  name & phone number (abbreviation "bfphone"); name, address & phone ("bffull");  first name only ("b").

I believe you are aware that there can be a signature set selected via a dropdown box from the compose window.

One may also create an Identity with no signature set and perform a reply from that Identity.

Yes indeed I do know about identities and the dropdown signature box and the identities tool.  The problem really is that our new owners, bless them, like to put pictures and other advertising on our signature which changes each month so it makes emails a bit cumbersome as the images often appear as a series of attachments on the attachments page which is tiresome especially if there is a real attachment in there somewhere.

When starting a new email 'conversation' I am quite happy to put the signature even though I'm sure it can be an annoyance but for replies it seems unnecessary and I note that quite a lot of people I correspond with only put their signature if They email me and not if they reply to me or reply to a reply I've sent them.

Ihave set up a reply identity but sadly that is not one of the things that Pegasus 'remembers' to use on the next reply....

I ought to play with glossaries as well because they do seem quite useful, not sure they would help with my signature issue though.

In this case it won't.  The glossary entries are plain text only.  I forget that HTML email has become dominant and is more and more being used as a marketing tool or must have a marketing component (must be "pretty").
