mail filtering

I was using Spamhalter but did not like it.  I have cleared Spamhalter of all filters.  I am just using the filter function on each message.  I have had to put the same rule into the filter on multiple occasions.  For example, a local restaurant has me on their mailing list.  I have placed their email address as a delete message.  I have had to enter the same email address about 5 times this month.

I will try your idea about color coding action.

Thanks, Bobbie

I am using Pegasus Mail v. 4.63 with Win & 32 bit.  I have set up a filter for a lot of messages that I do not want to receive.  I send them to the delete folder.  Pegasus has set up a "junk or suspicious" mail folder.  After I set up the sender to go to delete file, the mail still goes to j&s folder.  I have the same sender, exactly the same, in my filter folder many, many times.  The entries are all the same.  What may I be doing wrong?

Are you using Spamhalter to detect spam?  If so, it may be that Spamhalter is sending the messages directly to the junk folder bypassing any new mail filters (assuming your filters are new mail filters).   Consider creating a general rule set that deletes the messages you know you don't want to see and associate that rule set as a folder open filter for the junk folder.  That way when you open the junk folder to review for false positives the filter will kick in and do the deletes.

FWIW, a method of testing whether a rule is getting triggered is to change the action to a change color action.  This can identify when a rule is not being triggered so you know to look at the rule itself and the logic within the rule set.
