I have a user that was using Pegasus and ran the utility to install the Pegasus MAPI.dll so that when trying to utilize a SEND from within a  program (i.e. Excel) the default Client for a Send.would lauch Pegasus with the file attach. They have now installed MS Outlook and wants to have Outlook be the default client. I tried replacing the MAPI.dll for Pegasus in System32 with the one that was saved during the execution of wpmmapi.exe but it doesn't seem to work. I also made certain that the EMail program identified in the IE Tools / Programs section is Outlook. Is there some utility that will restore the proper MAPI.dll file or somehow reverse the process or can you provide the steps needed to accomplish this task ?

Thanks for your assistance.

Have you tried Fixmapi.exe in your Windows\system32 directory ?  And have you read the Microsoft article, http://support.microsoft.com/kb/926196

If you are confident enough you could try updating the Windows Registry. You would need to update HKCU\software\classes\mail to change the default value from Pegasus Mail to Outlook.

Good Luck !!
