Re:Making the Switch to Pegasus
Sounds easy ... and I got that email from Han ... but it is not as easy as it sounds ... do the two programs have top be open or is this a back end event and when I try to drag and drop nothing seems to work properly, meaning nothing happens.  I don't mean to be troublesome but consider me a complete novice when trying to figure this out.
Identify the Windows directory that contains the Eudora mailbox

With Pegaus Mail open, open the Folder window (no need to do this if you use Preview mode).

While the Folder window or Preview window is active click the Folder pull down menu and select Add mailbox to list

Enter the path to the Eudora mailbox directory, give it a name then click OK.

The Eudora mailbox should now be visible at the bottom of the Pegasus Mail folder list.
I also tried to use a converter from Dragon Computer consulting ... I have added pmm folders to the back end in the pmail folder, but it does not translate into folders in the program ... am I putting these in the wrong place.  You have to take into account that their program was writen in 1997.
The pmm files would need to be added to a mailbox folder while Pegasus Mail is closed.  If Pegasus recognizes the new pmm files they will be added to the folder list.  It's possible that Pegasus doesn't recognize them as valid folder files.  Exporting then importing would be the next thing to try.  You may need to manipulate the exported file to make the field format match what Pegasus will be looking for on import.

I have been a Eudora user since 2005 and have found myself happy with it ... but then Windows 7 and a new computer came about I found myself having mucho problemo with Eudora crashing every month ... I re-install but it is becoming a big pain in the ass ... Anyway I have looked at other email clients and it seems Pegasus just might be the right one to go with ... I downloaded it and mail is coming out and leaving just fine ... but here is my problem ...

I have a number of folders (with sub folders) in the Eudora system, but can't figure out how to get them to import into Pegasus ... I have read something about conversion software and others that say you can just drag and drop ... I find it all a little confusing.  Is there someone out there who can provide me some step by step instructions about how to bring my folders from Eudroa into Pegasus so as not to lose all the information I have there.

Thanks so much for the help

Han van den Bogaerde in his website (http://www.vandenbogaerde.net) says : "When using Pegasus Mail for Windows version 3.0 or later, no conversion

from Eudora or other .MBX using packages is needed anymore. You can use

the add mailbox function in the Folders menu to add the Eudora (any

.MBX) mailbox and drag the messages into the Pegasus Mail mailbox." You should easily succeed to move your mails from Eudora to Pegasus.

If you need to convert address books, if you can export them from Eudora in .csv format, then you'll be able to import them in Pegasus, you can also use dawn.exe : http://mysite.verizon.net/zakharin/software/Dawn/features.html

I also tried to use a converter from Dragon Computer consulting ... I have added pmm folders to the back end in the pmail folder, but it does not translate into folders in the program ... am I putting these in the wrong place.  You have to take into account that their program was writen in 1997.

I am very confused and ready to scrap the whole thing.
