ISSUE RECIEVING MAIL 4.4.2

Try recreating your SSL certificate in MercuryS. If that doesn't work, disable SSL in MercuryS.

Cheers!

I have mercury running as a mail server.  someone from the outside company is trying to send an email to the domain hosted by mercury and recieving a bounce back with the following message.  They are able to send to other email systems and we have no issue recieving from anyone else.

4.4.2 - Bad connection 'Connection Lost' (delivery attempts:
            8)

I would recommend that you turn on session logging in MercuryS and then have them send you a message.  You see exactly what is going on between MercuryS and their server and will be in a much better position to see where the problem lies.  BTW, are you using GrayWall?

Do not leave this on all the time since it's disk intensive and uses up a lot of CPU cycles when receiving mail.

Are you running the latest Mercury version on WindowsNT by any chance?  There is a known problem with this combination and ssl/tls connections.

If not, try recreating your ssl certificate and ensure that there is a separate cert for each protocol you use - SMTP, POP etc.

Last resort - turn ssl/tls off in the top checkbox on the ssl tab in the SMTP configuration.
