Delete confirmation work around?

There is a vast difference between deleting messages, an action that can be reversed (only within that session if the Deleted Messages folder is not persistent), and deleting 10s, 100s, or 1000s of messages in one go by deleting a message Folder. As deleting a Folder is not a recoverable event. I'm sure Mr. Harris' intent is to protect users from themselves.

Hi,

I don't care for the standard Delete confirmation dialog where I have to check "Really delete this?" and then "OK" but the only option I can find is turn of confirmation entirely and like that even less.

Is there a middle ground where I can keep the confirmation dialog popping up, but not have to check that darn check-box every time?

You can't do as you desire. Go to where you saw that option and press the Help button to read about it. Turn on persistent Deleted folder and deselect that option. Your only concern will be deleting address book entries. That is what backups are for. There will always be that type of confirmation message with check box when you delete a folder.

Thanks Guy, but I hope you are wrong, that is plain nuts. I have not seen a confirmation check box on a Delete dialog for probably 15 years.

I might mention I am a programmer and have been for 35+ years so I am pretty conversant with the way things should be for the buying public, and that check box not being a "don't ask me again," option is stuck back there with the Ark.
