Lost addresses???

In addition to address book file pairs there are also winpmfua.pm list of recently used addresses and two other files that also record addresses used you could copy from the old drive to the home mail box location on the new drive.

See http://www.vandenbogaerde.net/pegasusmail/pf_pmfiles.html

for files and names reference.

I have been using PMail almost since I started using computers.  My problem; the power unit in my computer blew up.  The electrics were fried.  However, I removed the hard drive and plugged it into another computer, effectviely as another hard drive.  The data is still on it.  I installed a new version of PMail on the C drive of this new computer.  I read somewhere else that I could copy and paste the file containing my address book into the new version of Pmail.  This didn't work.  Can someone tell me if this can be done, or whether there is a simpler way of doing this, or do I wave farewell to my old addresses. Cheers.

Address books are stored as .PMR and .PM! data/index file pairs within your home mailbox location on your old drive.  They will both have the same filename (e.g. ADDR14F3.PMR and ADDR14F3.PM!).  You may have more than one address book, so copy all of the .PMR and .PM! files to your home mailbox location on the C drive of the new computer.
