Imap with Gmail and mail forwarding

It only happens if the option for forwarding attachments is ticked in the forward dialog and results in an attached text file containing the original body text once again (no matter whether the original message has any attachments or not). Don't ask me why this happens, but it's this way as long as I can remember. IOW: You can either delete it before sending the message or tell your recipients to ignore it.

For some reason everytime I forward an email from Pegasus, through the GMail SMTP server the receipient gets my email with an attachement (which I didn't attach) which they can't open. I do not know what setting I am missing to prevent this. Before I set up the IMAPing and used Pegasus straight with a Pop3 download of my emails, this did not happen. Does anyone have any ideas?

Confirmed that a forward with edits results in the attachment of a PM$ file. This does not occur when forwarding without edits (bounce) or when forwarding with email message as attachment. I don't know the cause so can't offer a solution. Perhaps someone else can. For now, options appear to be to forward messages as attachments or switch back to downloading via POP3.
