Signature issue when replying to messages

Thanks guys :)

The RTF option is on by default. I also tried turning it off.

We don't use identities. A member of staff starts Pegasus Mail with the -i <username> switch specified. Just one account is used for each staff member. If they need to look at another account, a second shortcut is created that uses the -i switch and the second username. Both shortcuts will then have the -ms switch specified so that multiple copies of Pegasus Mail can be opened at the same time.

It's a strange issue.

One of our staff just informed me that when they reply to a message without quoting the original message their signature is not included. If they reply quoting the original message it is included.

I've never noticed this before as I always quoted the original message but I tried it and they are right.

Can someone tell me how I can configure Pegasus Mail to always include a signature when replying please?

The signature option is configured so it appears automatically (or so I thought):

I have my signature set with plain content and this works OK.

Just a thought. You might have to check the RTF option if using a formatted sig.

Thanks a lot for replying.

Which RTF option is that? I can't see a RTF option in the signature configuration.

Cheers!

No. I'm talking about the new message options when that pops up. However if you have a plain text sig option that might not be necessary

Thanks - all messages are configured as RTF by default, including replies, so it's not that.

Cheers!

Understood, but have you checked the effects of firstly configuring both a plain text and rich text sig and secondly checking the rich text box in the outgoing message? (Regardless of other settings)

Erm.. no. So, are you saying that we should set up two signatures?

Why do we need 2 signatures? Why can't Pegasus Mail just drop the signature into the reply, regardless of whether the original message is quoted or not?

If we do set up two signatures (and we'd have to do this for all our staff), how is it configured so that a signature is dropped into a message where the original message is not quoted?

Thanks!

OK

I just set up a second signature for Internet, Plain and that didn't work either.

OK

I just set up a second signature for Internet, Plain and that didn't work either.

I haven't tried any of this before either. What I'm saying is set up both a plain text and formatted text sig in sig set 1. Set the formatted version as default.

Respond to a message using plain text and again with rich text and see what results you get. I've tried it and I get both versions of the sig dependent upon the RTF selection.

Thanks - I tried that and I'm still not getting a signature in replies where the original message is not quoted.

I have a formatted signature set up in Set 1. The formatting is used to turn url's into clickable links, and to reduce the size of the signature's text. While within Set 1 I then chose the Internet - Plain option and typed a bit of test text. Set 1 is saved as the default signature set. I also tried closing and opening Pegasus Mail in case a restart was required.

Thanks for your help - I reckon there must be an easy solution to this.

Cheers!

Difficult to know why we are getting so markedly different results. Did checking the rich text option have no effect?

Keep in mind that the default signature set is identity specific. Confirm that you aren't setting the default signatures set as one identity but replying as a different identity that doesn't have a default signature set defined.
