Account configuration problem

I am new to Pegasus. I am trying to configure an account for my domain email. I have entered the POP3 and SMTP servers as mail.studiomitch.com as was suggested by my website host. However, I am getting an error whenever I try to send or receive mail. The error basically says I have an invalid username or password. What exactly is this username and password supposed to match? I am grateful for any help on this issue.

The POP3 host configuration needs the domain mailbox address (username@domain.com) as the username and the password for that domain mailbox as the password.  In the SMTP host configuration, the credentials for the domain mailbox should work as well.  These would be entered in the "Login to the SMTP server with the following username and password" setting on the Security tab.

One problem is see is that Studiomitch.com appears to be a website and not a webhost.  Is studiomitch.com running its own mailserver?  If so, that person would be able to provide POP3 and SMTP access instructions.  If the mailbox you are trying to access is hosted by a domain host or a service such as gmail or yahoo then you need host specific instruction.  Try doing a web search for POP3 and SMTP access instructions for that host.

Thank you, Brian, for you answer. I have tried using the username as you have suggested. Neither of the passwords that I would use for that have worked, however. That is where I am stumped. In the error code, there is a line with "OK" in it after the username and another line with "Invalid" in it after the password. This leads me to believe that the password is actually the issue.

I had been using Network Solutions for domain registration, and web hosting (to include email). I am getting ready to switch to Go Daddy for expense reasons. The person who designed my site is going to be hosting from now on. Unfortunately he is out of communication for the next week.

I have pointed my site to my new host's name servers, but I have not yet switched registration. Currently, any mail sent to my domain address is being bounced back. I need to solve this as quickly as possible.

Do you think following through with the registration change will allow me to reset the password and thereby solve my problem?

Whoever is your domain host will most likely be where domain mailbox(es) are hosted.  If you have mailboxes currently hosted by Network Solutions then look here for their POP3 & SMTP access instructions:  http://www.networksolutions.com/support/pop-imap-settings.  If you switch to Go Daddy or some other domain host you will create domain mailbox(es) there then create new Pegasus Mail POP3 and SMTP host configurations as per their access instructions.
